Why BingoDisk?

Access your files from anywhere

Since BingoDisk storage is accessed over the internet, you can read and write your files from any computer using an operating system that is WebDAV capable (Windows XP, Mac OSX, most flavors of Unix). And you can download your files with any web browser. Your data is always available, always reliable, always ready.

Protected against disk failure

BingoDisk uses hardware and disk architecture that is an order of magnitude more reliable than that hard drive you may be tempted to buy down at the local CompuMall. Rather than writing your data to a single drive, BingoDisk spreads the data across up to 45 disks, which significantly improves reliability while never sacrificing access speed.

Works with other services

As of right now, you can use your BingoDisk storage just as you would any other hard drive. In the coming months, you'll be able plug BingoDisk in to Joyent's other services like Connector, TextDrive Accelerators and hosting services. WebDAV provides you with a protocol to connect your BingoDisk storage with a wide variety of online services.

Works with your local operating system

For your applications, WebDAV disks look just like the disk inside your computer. You can write in your word processor, and save directly to BingoDisk. Work on that spreadsheet and save directly to BingoDisk. Open photos in your favorite graphics editing program directly from BingoDisk.

Try BingoDisk

Of course you'd love to try before you buy — we have a demo account set up and waiting for you. The login is demo@bingodisk.com, the password is bingo and the WebDAV url is http://demo.bingodisk.com/bingo/. You can find instructions on how to connect in our Getting Started Guide.

Important Note

Joyent does not maintain backups of your disk in case you delete something in error. You're buying a disk, and you're responsible for its contents. Your data is incredibly safe and secure, but if you delete something, it's gone.

How reliable is it? The storage architecture is so sophisticated and redundant that you'd be more likely to have a meteor fall on your head (and a vastly better chance of an external drive failing), than losing your data on BingoDisk.
